Volunteer Program

Partnerships with the community are essential with the Huntington Park Police Department community based policing programs. The Huntington Park Police Department civilian volunteer program is a partnership with individual members of the community who provide a valuable resource to the department.

Services
Our volunteers perform a wide variety of services within the department.
	Volunteers are trained to provide another set of eyes and ears to detect, report, and prevent crime by patrolling our streets in our Police Citizen Patrol Vehicle or for those who have been trained, on police bicycles as part of our bike patrol program. Volunteers also assist at the police department’s front counter, dispatch and in our records division. Volunteers assist with our City’s major events. Volunteers are also active participants with our department sponsored youth programs such as the J.A.R. (Juveniles at Risk) Program, P.A.L. (Police Activities League) and assist with our Huntington Park Police Officer Association Christmas Food and Toy Give-A-Way.

How to Volunteer
The Huntington Park Police Department is looking for people who want an exciting way to work in a partnership with the police and the community we serve. You must be at least 18 years of age, be free of any criminal convictions, and be willing to volunteer a minimum of eight hours per month. All uniforms and equipment are provided by the city. Be part of the team, working with law enforcement and our community to make the City of Huntington Park a safe and pleasurable place to live.
